Meet The Team

Emma Phillips
Managing Director, Founder & Volunteer
Emma along with Soo is the founder of MAP and remains steady in her original vision of the organisation; which is to enable people to realise their full potential through education.  Emma is an experienced tutor in IT and believes in needs based learning, providing an environment that encourages progression for each learner.  Amongst her many roles, Emma takes responsibility for raising the much needed funds to ensure MAP remains sustainable.  Her office door is always open and she welcomes new ideas and projects for the community of Kington incorporating them into MAP’s visions

  Soo Linacre 
Director, Financial Controller, Founder & Volunteer 
Soo is the Co-founder of MAP and ensures that there is always a tight hold on the purse strings.  Soo is a dedicated volunteer to Kington Resource centre and enjoys overseeing bulk printing jobs such as the Kington Tourist information booklet and Herefordshire Friends of the Museum.

Amanda Collis
Centre manager, Tutor & Volunteer
Amanda’s role is to ensure the smooth running of the centre and administration of courses.  Amanda holds a certificate of Teaching in the Lifelong learning Sector and has been a tutor at MAP for over 4 years. Amanda is also the volunteer coordinator and oversees marketing and planning throughout the year for all the courses and open day events.  Amanda is especially keen to help those who are new to the computer whether young or old and take them on a life changing journey.

  Annie Edwards
Community Agent & Volunteer
 Annie’s role is to achieve cross pollination between groups and organisations in and around Kington.  Annie’s aim is to get groups and individuals involved with each other’s activities and share good practice.  Annie is also working on a project called active at 60, which is to encourage those approaching retirement to remain active and engage positivly with the community, in particular those most at risk of social isolation and loneliness. 

Carole Stevenson
Asset Transfer Researcher & Volunteer
Carole has recently joined the team here at MAP to investigate the feasibility of the community taking ownership of the Old Police Station.  The building is currently owned by Herefordshire Council and offices are rented by a variety of businesses including Marches Access Point.  Carole intends to identify the needs of all the organisations in Kington and the resources they require from Marches Access Point in meeting those needs.
